Ossuccio
Ossuccio is just south of Lenno and diagonally opposite Isola Comacina. The lakefront at Ossuccio is distinguished by two unusual bell towers – the Moorish tower of the church of S. Maria Maddalena ad Ospedaletto and the ‘sail shaped’ tower of S.Giacomo. It’s also the location of the handsome Villa Balbiano.
Ossucio is also the starting point for a steep walk past fourteen baroque chapels to the Santuario della Madonna del Soccorso, described in Pilgrims’ Progress.
