Moltrasio is the site of the Grand Hotel Imperiale, dating from the same period as the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, and similarly updated.
A monument commemorates the composer Bellini who composed La Somnambula here. He also wrote La Straniera at the Villa Passalacqua (now open to visitors on Thursdays).
Moltrasio has a lido and boats for hire.
