Where to find directions to Lake Como from Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate or Bergamo Orio al Serio airport

By far the best way of getting directions to any destination on Lake Como from the local airports is to take your Sat Nav on holiday with you (provided it’s programmed for use in Europe).

Once you get over the initial surprise of hearing directions for Italian routes in English, you’ll find it by far the easiest way of navigating all the way to your destination.

If you don’t have a Sat Nav, or don’t take it with you, you can get directions before you go, and print them off in advance, from one of a number of interactive online maps like Via Michellin, Google Maps or Multimap.

Those directions are very detailed, so at the risk of relationship breakdown before you start your holiday proper, it’s probably advisable for the front seat passenger to read them and ‘call them out’ to the driver.
